Western Australian Wind Symphony

"I am full of admiration for Sam Parry and the West Australian Wind Symphony players after tonight’s phenomenal performance. For much of the first half, I felt like I was either in a foreign country, or seeing a touring group. Perth simply does not have bands of this calibre – until now. I went to see many of my recent students in action, and expected a typical community band, but nothing prepared me for the quality and virtuosity of this performance… I will be at every performance you give, that’s for sure."

The WA Wind Symphony is an orchestra with concert band instrumentation. The ensemble provides woodwind, brass, percussion and double bass players the opportunity to challenge the boundaries of instrumental performance, focusing on music written specifically for the symphonic band.

In 2017 the WA Wind Symphony competed in the WA state band championships, and won the A division championship trophy in what was their first public performance.
