Since its beginning, WACO has been lucky to call Churchlands SHS home. In our February 2017 concert, over 40% of our performers were current students or alumni of the Churchlands SHS specialised Music Program.
Established in 1972, to encourage young musical talent and raise the profile of music in the community through education, the Churchlands music program is now one of the state’s largest and most successful with graduates working in leading and principal positions in most high-profile national arts organisations. Working hard as part of a disciplined team, the students perform music in a wide range of styles, make rewarding friendships, travel, and contribute to the community. The program has a reputation, in Western Australia and beyond, for excellence in performance and music studies.
Our desire is to help older people truly LIVE the second half of their lives. We all want to live active, healthy lives at every age and stage. Amana Living’s philosophy is to achieve this, as far as possible, for all our residents and clients.
We have been serving the community since 1962, so you can be assured of our expertise and quality care and services. These include residential care centres, housing, home care services, respite care, transition care and dementia services, spread across 21 sites in Perth metro, Australind, Kalgoorlie and Albany.
Our name, Amana Living, represents our philosophy:
We pride ourselves on providing excellence in care and services for people living the second half of life.
Our mission is to build the world’s most sophisticated community-based content distribution network and develop Perth and WA as a regional hub for arts, events, culture and travel.
Scoop already represents more than 1,000 local galleries, museums, theatres, arts, event and community organisations and at any given time profiles 500 to 1000 events online. Scoop also showcases the state’s largest online travel guide, representing more than 3,500 lifestyle and travel businesses in Perth and regional WA.
Scoop is a proudly independent, collaborative, community-based organisation and has been supporting the arts and small business in WA for more than 20 years. We charge no membership fees and receive no government funding. We look forward to working with all stakeholders to make our home a better place to live, work, travel and do business for all West Australians.
“[WACO] is such an amazing opportunity. Our repertoire is not only a joy to play and listen to, but full of complexities, and hectic for me as percussionist. I’ve nearly landed on top of the trumpets more than a few times now, rushing between instruments!”
