Since its beginning, WACO has been lucky to call Churchlands SHS home. In our February 2017 concert, over 40% of our performers were current students or alumni of the Churchlands SHS specialised Music Program.
Established in 1972, to encourage young musical talent and raise the profile of music in the community through education, the Churchlands music program is now one of the state’s largest and most successful with graduates working in leading and principal positions in most high-profile national arts organisations. Working hard as part of a disciplined team, the students perform music in a wide range of styles, make rewarding friendships, travel, and contribute to the community. The program has a reputation, in Western Australia and beyond, for excellence in performance and music studies.
To Dream A Story (TDAS) is a photography and videography service created by Ebony Lim (photography) and Adam Tan (videography). Since its humble inception in 2012, TDAS has captured hundreds of moments ranging from functions, school balls, graduations and newspaper publications.
Being musicians themselves, TDAS also specialises in portraiture with musicians, having photographed and designed multiple posters for student recitals. TDAS is the official photographer for the Western Australian Charity Orchestra.
“[WACO] is such an amazing opportunity. Our repertoire is not only a joy to play and listen to, but full of complexities, and hectic for me as percussionist. I’ve nearly landed on top of the trumpets more than a few times now, rushing between instruments!”
