Katelyn Southon is one of our fantastic trombonists in the WA Charity Orchestra. She is married to a Kiwi and they have two gorgeous kids, a 3 year old girl and a 18 month old boy. Katelyn splits her time between staying at home with them and studying pre-clinical human biology at Curtin University, with the goal to study post graduate dental medicine. Katelyn briefly studied Jazz Performance on trombone at WAAPA (almost 10 years ago!) and has been having a ball being back in the music game with WACO!
Katelyn’s hobbies include calligraphy, crocheting, and trying to play piano while the kids “play” along. Her favourite things in the world to do are belting out soppy love songs in the car with my three year old and snuggling up on the couch with some ice cream and a good comedy.
