Regarded as one of Australia’s finest lyric tenors, Henry has performed to international acclaim with major opera companies and symphony orchestras, at home and across the globe.
Henry made his principal debut in 2004 as Ernesto in Opera Queensland’s Don Pasquale. Since then, Henry has established a diverse operatic repertoire performing leading roles with Opera Australia, New Zealand Opera, Melbourne Opera, Opera Queensland, State Opera of South Australia and West Australian Opera. He has also appeared in international festivals at Edinburgh, Macau and Auckland.
Equally versatile and engaging in concert, Henry regularly features as a soloist in oratorio and symphonic works, and is a renowned interpreter of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Bach’s St John Passion and Händel’s Messiah. He also performs in recitals and opera concert events.
Henry is a multiple Green Room Award nominee, most recently for his portrayal of Robert Leceister in Melbourne Opera’s 2015 production of Maria Stuarda. Many of his performances have been broadcast on television and radio, and he also appears in a number of CD and DVD recordings, including being featured as a sung voice-over in the P.J. Hogan film Mental, starring Toni Collette.
2018 also sees the release of BRIGHT POET, Henry’s debut solo album that showcases the radiant beauty of his voice through operatic aria and song, recorded in New Zealand with Orchestra Wellington.
